Coldstone Creamery!

I love Coldstones! Many others do but all are not created equal. My home base is the one in the perimeter location. I went to another store in Phoenix, AZ when I went there for my graduation. The lady that made mine didn't break up the candy I requested so I tasted mostly ice cream. It really can ruin your day. Lol! When I asked for extra candy she charged me extra. I
was appalled but I didn't have time to argue with her because I would have missed my graduation! The perimeter location in Atlanta ALWAYS does me right!

Fish Sandwich

Last Saturday me and my friend decided to catch a movie and there was pizza place that was near it that we previously checked out before. Of course it wasn't there anymore. So we decided to hit of the restaurant that had taken its place, 3 Dollar Cafe on chamblee tucker road. It is basically a sports bar. The waitress sggested we try the grouper fingers and blackened grouper sandwich. When she brought out the entree, our sandwich and fries, I couldn't believe how large the gruper fillet was. It was basically the size of an oval dinner plate. It was seasoned well and we were given a massive amount of steak fries, between our entree and appetizer order. The grouper fingers were golden and fried to perfection so much so that expected to bite into a piece of chicken (finger) but  instead it was the most fluffy and flakey portion of grouper. For a great taste of grouper I suggest the 3 Dollar Cafe.

J. Christophers

We woke up late Sunday morning so we decided instead of cooking we would try another local breakfast place. A colleague asked me had I tried J. Christopher's, which I hadn't. So I took the family to the Brookhaven location and it was packed but they have a nice sitting area inside to wait which wasn't long. Sunday was very nice, warm, and slightly windy so we didn't being seated outside. I had their pantry feast with pancakes. They have a alternative if you are trying to watch your weight. My husband had their blueberry pancakes but said that he found the Flying Biscuits pancakes to taste better-which I agree with-but the food was still good. The lemon I requested with my water didn't seem fresh but that's the only real complaint that I had. This is a nice place to go to for breakfast or lunch and meet with friends, have a light lunch and read a book, or watch the people who live locally have a nice afternoon stroll. The artwork here is really nice and I found myself really admiring it. Our waitress, Kim, was really nice and even hugged me before we left.

The Flying what?

Today, I convinced my husband to try this new place in Norcross called the Flying Biscuits. We both like to eat breakfast food at any time of the day. So after passing this place a million times every week, I decided to try it. They had some really appealing things in their menu that had nothing to do with breakfast but pancakes were n my mind. They had a special for the week which were these fluffy blueberry pancakes. I quickly tried these and they were so good. So good in fact that I forgot to take a picture of them before I started eating for everyone to see. :) This place is colorful and even have live music on certain days. It has great artwork, too.
The sausage was chicken sausage, the pancakes had hearty granola in it, and the staff is very polite and social.
They have many other things on their menu other than breakfast food that I hope to try later. If you are looking for a sunday brunch place or a place to pick up your mood this is a good place with colorful decor and people, plus very good blueberry pancakes.

Morning Goodness

I started my internship last December (2010) at a counseling center. I had to get on schedule because I haven't had to wake before 12am in the last 2 years. So I would drag in at 9a (I know ;) and yawn and sit at the reception desk. My colleagues offered to get me a cup of coffee from a local donut shop. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I needed to wake up so I accepted the offer. They came back with this french vanilla goodness!!! So the next opportunity I got I went over to the small shop. They had fresh pastries, coffee, and cappuccino. I got a half a dozen donut holes and a cup of the best french vanilla cappucino I have ever had. It all came to $2.16. I thought, "They have great pastries and excellent prices?!" After a few visits, I thought they can't be better that a large donut/coffee chain so I went to a major chain to compare. Let's just say I threw out the coffee and donuts from the larger chain. The coffee was too bitter and it tasted as if it was scorched. The donuts were too heavy and not glazed well. So now I have become a regular customer at Sara's Donuts on Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek (or Duluth). I suggest you make it over there early because their hours are 5a-12p.
